The Solution

 Everyone working together!

The Spirit of Renaissance® Foundation has been established to integrate university, corporate, independent and student inventors into a single organization having one voice.  In addition, the Foundation is working to strengthen the role of inventors as an important segment of Utah's economic development efforts.  Corporations are invited to have at least one inventor participate as a member.  Universities and colleges are likewise are encouraged to have research faculty members involved.  Independent and student inventors will now have a "home base" of operations and will now have improved access to training, equipment, grant opportunities, etc.  Together, we can build on Utah's well-known heritage of creativity and innovation.

The Foundation is endeavoring to advance this effort by (i) providing a more effective networking system between inventors and the business/government sector, (ii) giving inventors regular encouragement and education through monthly email communications and periodic seminars; and (iii) fostering greater community awareness of individuals demonstrating a creative spirit through recognition and awards under The Spirit of da Vinci® invention competition.

Spirit of Da Vinci Awards

This recognition program is a unique opportunity for Utah Inventors to compete for thousands of dollars in awards, as well for as public and commercial attention.  Competition will focus on the creativity of the individual inventor as demonstrated by his or her specific invention.  Because there is no requirement of commercial success, inventors may submit inventions without waiting for product development.  Separate competitions will be conducted for (i) independent inventors and (ii)inventors in the corporate and academic communities.
